I spent a month here, and the constant hassle over basic cleanliness, service, and comfort made the stay feel more like punishment than a holiday or work trip. I've stayed in budget hotels before, but this was disgraceful even by those standards. If you care about a clean room and basic comfort, I'd avoid it. I'd add a couple hundred dollars for somewhere worth the money, or stay in the mosque, where the living conditions are better. The room was already in bad shape when we checked in. The sheets were stained and looked like they hadn't been washed in weeks, the room smelled musty, and dust and grime were visible on the floors. The toilet kept leaking, leaving things damp and unsanitary, and the bidet didn't work. Housekeeping never changed the sheets or properly cleaned the room during the entire month. Requests were ignored or brushed aside, and I had to practically beg for towels and toiletries. One time, the towels I was given in a bag were filthy, stained, and ripped, like they'd been used by a mechanic. They were completely unusable. Staff seemed interested in tips, and even small requests were met with indifference unless money was handed over. The service was barely acceptable even then. I suspect the workers are underpaid and overworked because management is stingy, leaving them to rely on tips. That creates a toxic situation for staff and guests. The manager and his 'henchmen' were rude, confrontational, and ineffective. They argued heatedly with guests, including me, and didn't try to settle matters civilly. I also saw them berate their own workers in front of guests and treat them horribly. They seemed focused on cutting costs, and their attitude made the hotel hostile for everyone. It felt like a money trap that gave frustration and disappointment in return.

My stay at Al Andalus Palace 2 Hotel Kurban fell well short of what I expected. The location was farther from the Holy Mosque than I thought, making it impractical to walk there. The room was much smaller than the 30 m² promised when I booked, and there was no bathtub or balcony/terrace as advertised. The washroom was in poor shape: the towel hanger was broken, and the shower didn't work properly. Staff behavior also felt unprofessional and short on basic hospitality. Room descriptions and amenities on booking sites need to be accurate, and the hotel's distance from major landmarks should be clear so guests can make an informed choice. Regular maintenance and better staff training would also help. The hotel may have potential, but service, transparency, and upkeep need significant improvement to meet expectations.

I booked through Agoda and found check-in quick and smooth. The staff were friendly, cooperative, and ready to help. It's a reasonable choice for travelers on a budget, though I'd call it more of a 3-star property. The rooms were clean but small and could use maintenance, and there is no pool area despite what the profile says. The Haram is about a 30-minute walk for young people. A shuttle is offered, but it's unreliable: there's just one old minibus with around 20 seats, and more guests are usually waiting than it can carry. We often had to take taxis, at about 10 SAR each way. If being close to the Haram or having dependable transport matters, this may not be the most convenient option.

Avoid this place. They switched our rooms around, and on check-in we had no towels until the following day. There were seven of us, but they gave us only one card per room. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine and was disgusting. The shower is right beside the toilet, leaving almost no room to move, and the toilet paper holder is useless because the roll gets soaked when you shower. The air conditioning made noises like a cat. What a joke of a hotel.

A beautiful-looking place, wallah. The room service, facilities, and location were very good, and I really liked it.
