Elaf Meshal Al Madinah Hotel

The room was small, and our booking was for three adults, but there were supplies for only two, including two mugs and two glasses. In practice, a triple room just meant an extra bed. We had to keep asking for basics like hand towels and floor mats. The hotel is almost 1 km from the entrance to Masjid Nabawi gate 8. At booking, a shuttle to Masjid Nabawi was offered, but on arrival we were told it had been discontinued. Breakfast was very basic, with limited choices. You had to request items such as an eggs omelette, and anything that ran out at the buffet wasn’t refilled right away. The service manager in the breakfast restaurant was unfriendly.

The setting is peaceful, the staff are very cooperative, and housekeeping is excellent. The buffet doesn’t have many varieties, but for a room rate that includes breakfast, it’s excellent value. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the ladies' gate, which is the one drawback. Otherwise, a very good hotel at a reasonable price.

There was water leaking in the toilet, and the shower area looked unclean and unhygienic. The room itself wasn’t clean either, with hair on the bedsheet. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

For the price, it’s good value. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and housekeeping does a good job. Breakfast has only a few options, but the food tastes good, especially the "foul" :)
