The workers were nice and attentive, and the room was pretty standard. It came with a kettle and regular TV, and the Wi-Fi was good. The walk to masjid nabawi and quba walkway wasn’t far. I was bitten, most likely by a mosquito, because the window was broken and wouldn’t lock. They came and fixed it in the morning. The carpet wasn’t fitted properly, with nails exposed at the corners, which doesn’t feel safe for young children. The price is extortionate, so try booking early in case you can get a cheaper rate.
Reham and Sohel were very cooperative, and the stay was good overall. The washroom needs work, though. The wood decor should be repaired to stop water leaking into the room. At around 450 per night, the price didn’t feel justified.
Our room was tidy and well kept, though it felt a little cramped for a family. The big plus was being able to walk to Masjid e Nabwi in about 10-12 minutes.
The four-hour wait ended with us finally getting into our room, but there was no apology or compensation, just an exhausting struggle to get basic service. We had booked more than 24 hours ahead, yet reception refused to check us in when we arrived. Jawar was rude and unprofessional, ignored us despite our speaking Arabic and English, gave no information, and let other guests go ahead. We had to keep pleading to get any response. I also saw other reviews on Booking.com and TripAdvisor describing dirty rooms, poor housekeeping, and dismissive staff. One April 2024 review said the room wasn't cleaned during the whole stay; another mentioned loud noise and cigarette smells throughout the hotel. It was a terrible experience at Hayah Diamond Hotel in Medina. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The management needs to make major changes before this place is acceptable.
