Sidrathul Aaliya Hotel

The hotel feels very old, and crossing the road is frightening, with multiple cars nearly hitting you. The bathroom floor was dirty, the shower area was small, and barely any toiletries were provided. We kept having to ask for toilet roll because what they gave us was only half a roll. For Umrah, you still need a cosy place to rest and freshen up. I'd rather pay more for somewhere closer and nicer.

We stayed three nights, and it was very poor value. The hotel felt below standard and about three times more expensive than it should have been. The rooms were small, with old local furniture, awful carpet, and a tiny washroom that left almost no room to bathe. The bathing area was only about 60x40cm diagonally. Water flow was slow and had almost no pressure. Even after several requests, they didn't clean the rooms regularly. There was no shuttle Bus to Haram, and walking there took over 25 minutes, including crossing a high-speed main road. Definitely not recommended.

The noise made it impossible to rest. The window wouldn't shut properly, and a restaurant right in front of the hotel had staff shouting to attract customers from around 6-7 AM until midnight. When I raised these problems at reception, they said there was no manager or anyone in charge and that nothing could be done. That made an already bad stay worse. The room was dirty and smelled bad. Basic supplies were lacking: there was only a low-quality shampoo, and even the toilet paper was half used. Wi-Fi was extremely slow and barely worked. Staff seemed careless and were often absent; when they were there, they didn't seem interested in helping. The stay was unacceptable, and I strongly suggest choosing another hotel.

The carpet was really old and, I think, had never been washed or cleaned. The rooms were tiny and poorly maintained, especially with three people sharing one. They gave us just half a roll of toilet tissue and one towa. The receptionist was always moody and unhelpful. The AC stayed at one temperature, so we had to keep turning it on and off all day and night. There was no hair dryer, and the window wouldn't open properly. With three beds, we got only one cup and no tea, coffee, or sugar. When I asked for tea and sugar, they refused, saying they don't give it. It was uncomfortable and lacked basic hospitality. Think carefully before booking. My experience was 4/10. Not recommended.
