Al Mashreq Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was really good, especially the huge omelettes and za’atar bread. I also liked the old world feel of this hotel in a plaza with other shops. The entrance and main areas are beautiful, and the rooms have ornate dark wood that makes them cozy, a welcome change from modern hotels. I stayed one night. I’d give it a 5 if they replaced the room carpet and left the rest. The room’s heavy perfume made it hard to sleep, probably because it was meant to cover a smell. There were also spots around the toilet that wouldn’t scrub off with a wet towel. They seemed to be stains, and perhaps the area just needs to be stripped and resealed. The rooms are older, which gives them character, but those issues brought my rating down to 4.

Breakfast was amazing, with delicious food and lots of variety, and the hotel is good quality for the price. I liked the staff’s attention to detail, including how they arranged my things in the bathroom and left 🍏 🍎 🍊 as a welcome pack. The location is so-so because there’s nothing within walking distance, though that might suit some people.

The food was poor in taste, variety, and quantity. Everything ran out by Maghrib Aathan, and nothing was replenished. I had guests with me who arrived just five minutes after Aathan, but the food was already almost gone. They didn’t get to eat properly, and I was very embarrassed. There was no manager or anyone I could speak to about fixing the problem. A bad experience, and definitely not one I’d repeat.

The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my recent stay at Mashreq Boutique Hotel. The service was top-notch, and the location made it very convenient to get around Riyadh. It was great value for the price. The rooms are a little dated and could use refurbishment, but they were still very comfortable. I had a pleasant stay overall and would consider coming back.
