Sunday Business Avenue Formerly Rand Hotel

I had a confirmed booking for three nights, with confirmation from the property and no upfront payment requested. When I arrived at 7pm, I was told there were no rooms and that I would have to find somewhere else to stay. They said it was my problem, not the hotel’s. This happened to other guests as well. The customer service was shocking, and I’d be very careful about booking here. Choose another hotel.

Breakfast was a letdown, and I wish we hadn’t included it. Nothing was fresh, there wasn’t much variety, and the lobby corridor smelled awful. Staff weren’t supportive either. We also waited an hour and a half for our room because an inexperienced staff member couldn’t find the reservation number and didn’t speak English. Even though breakfast was included in our booking, we were told it wasn’t. I’d never recommend this place. You can find nicer places in a good location.

I used to be satisfied after more than 10 stays since 2022, booking at least five nights each time, and I recommended the hotel to others. This week-long booking from 07-14 Nov was the worst experience. There was no internet all week, breakfast was cheap with very few options, and there was no room service or cleaning, even with the sign hung out. I’m very disappointed and don’t think I’ll come back.

The room was dirty and nasty. The coffee cups were dirty inside and never replaced during my two-day stay, and neither was the small water. Reception didn’t know when breakfast opened. I was told 6:30, but at 7:35 there were no cleaners around and coffee, milk, and bread were missing. Breakfast itself was terrible, with cold boiled eggs, no other egg options, and a garbage cold buffet. In general, a disaster.
