Capital O 419 Al Safeer Hotel

The WiFi was there, but none of my devices could connect. The central air conditioning was also out, leaving the hotel above 30°C during my two-day stay. Reception said it had already been broken for over a week. Looking back at earlier traveler reviews, it seems it may have been down for weeks, and management still hadn’t fixed it. They should tell people about this when they book instead of springing it on them after arrival. The bed was made, but it looked as if it hadn’t been washed for new guests. Management needs to make sure rooms and amenities are sanitized, especially during Covid. The stay wasn’t pleasant, and I’m sorry, but I can’t recommend this hotel.

The rooms were decent, though they didn’t look like the booking site photos. Room service was rude and stingy with basics like slippers and towels, and the plumbing and sanitation weren’t satisfactory. There was a pool table, but no balls, and we weren’t allowed to use it because of Covid-19. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, and gym were also unavailable at the time due to Covid-19.

The stay itself was okay, but breakfast was pathetic. For 25 riyals per person, it was just some bread and a boiled egg. There are supermarkets nearby where you can get more for 25 riyals. Checking in takes ages because the receptionist disputes the discounted OYO rates I get. It happened twice, once when the fare was 125 and again when it was 95 riyals. They kept asking how I got the offer and said, “If I tell you there are no rooms, what will you do?” That attitude and way of speaking to customers is unacceptable. OYO provides the discount, not the hotel. Please make them aware of this.

A complete disaster. Dust everywhere, like the place hadn’t been cleaned in months. The AC wasn’t working properly, and when I asked, the guy at reception said it was being repaired and they’d look at it later. The reception staff gave bad service and didn’t seem experienced. TV channels were unclear, the remote didn’t work, and the mini fridge was broken.
