The receptionist’s manner was unprofessional. I think he treated me that way because I booked through Booking instead of directly. He said nothing was allowed, including hookah, and questioned whether my wife was really my wife. As a foreigner, nothing would show that. Access was with a key rather than a card. All this happened before I had even used the room.
The apartment looked nothing like the pictures, and the bed was so uncomfortable I could feel the springs against my back. I booked a Basic Apartment, 1 Bedroom through HOTELS.com, but on arrival the receptionist gave me a small room with two separate beds. He was extremely rude and didn’t even read the note I’d added to the booking. When I showed him the reservation, he said they didn’t have that option, but would give it to me just to shut me up. This place is old, old, old. I don’t recommend it at all, and I resent the way the business and its receptionists are managed.
I stayed on 31th Dec, and they charged me SAR 4.5 for 5% VAT before it was due. I complained, but they never resolved it.
Good value for the price and a perfect location. The Egyptian receptionist was professional, but the single rooms were narrow and poorly ventilated.
The staff were rude to guests, and the place was poorly maintained and not clean. I wouldn't book this hotel again.
