Le Méridien Al Hada

We usually visit this hotel whenever we come to Alhada, but hospitality and service were very poor this time, at the start of summer season. I asked for housekeeping from 12:00 pm, and nobody came by 3:30 pm. When I went to find a housekeeper and asked him to clean the room, he said he couldn’t do it then. There don’t seem to be many staff members, just one person in each area: the front desk, bell service, and housekeeping. Calls to the front desk also took a long time to be answered. The furniture is old and dusty and really needs replacing.

The breakfast buffet was horrible, and hygiene and service quality were both poor. It was very disappointing and far too pricey for what we got. Taif needs more Marriott options. Le Meridien should either close or renovate the property to meet basic international Marriott standards.

The cool atmosphere was lovely, such a difference from the temperature in makkah. The hotel needs upgrading, and customer service was just okay. I paid for accommodation for three in one room, but was given two beds. The third bed cost SAR 100. Even things that might have been complimentary for a member were charged for when requested.

The breakfast was a letdown. It came on plastic plates, the dishes ran out and weren’t refilled, the mango juice tasted bitter and seemed spoiled, and the salads weren’t kept cool enough. The hotel is old and run down, in the classic hotel sense. Even the toilet seat didn’t fit properly, and the hair dryer only worked after 10 minutes. The curtain looked like it belonged in a homicide movie. I won’t be back.
