Platinum Park Hotel

The bathroom was in awful shape: dirty, with old, broken fittings, poor hot water, and blocked drains at both the shower and sink. Water ended up across the floor. The sheets smelled bad, the room wasn’t clean, and although we asked for towels, they brought just one. At reception, the man was rude from the start. We tried to book a single room for our driver and were told none was available. When we attempted online check-in, he closed it in the system. We also asked for drinking water and were told each bottle cost 1 riyal. The Agoda listing said there’d be a mini kitchen with a hot plate, but there wasn’t one. We paid far too much for this. In Makkah we stayed at a 3 star hotel with breakfast for much less. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Bandar took care of everything we needed and made the trip feel special. The hotel and its service were excellent. I’d definitely recommend it.

Really comfortable, and it has the feel of a serviced apartment hotel.

The two units we booked were spacious, with two bedrooms apiece, but they felt badly worn and neglected. There was hair on the floor, marks on the sofa, a filthy bedroom carpet, and unclean bathrooms. It was hard to feel comfortable there. The photos on the booking sites look like they may date from when the hotel first opened. The reception staff were pleasant and quick, though we had to remember our room numbers because no slip came with the keys. Nobody told us when or where breakfast was served. Breakfast itself was below average and very basic. I can do without some favorite dishes, but instant coffee instead of proper coffee really spoiled it. If you’re on a tight budget and need lots of space, it could work. Otherwise, there are better places nearby at similar prices.
