Emerald Residence

The staff’s attitude was appalling, with reception coming across as arrogant and condescending. When I asked for an extra blanket, an employee answered rudely. We also asked several times for a kettle because the one in our room was dirty, but no one responded. There’s just one luggage trolley and one attendant, and the internet is terrible. These are the worst hotel apartments in Yanbu.

The apartment was in a convenient location, with good parking and well-equipped rooms. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a hall, an open kitchen with cooking pots and a stove, and a washing machine. The furnishings were well kept, the place immaculate, and the beds comfortable with quality linens and pillows. The service, though, was very poor. I booked four days ahead for a check-in after 5:00 pm. Reception called at noon, and I confirmed when we would arrive. We got there around 7:30 pm, and the receptionist told me to contact the room-service boy. He said our room wasn’t ready, offered another room with no AC, and said other people were waiting too, so ours would take another hour. Then a family member spoke to the receptionist in Arabic, and she immediately helped us get a room, which I appreciated. I don’t know why we were treated that way; maybe it was because I’d booked at an offer price. They hadn’t provided bathroom towels. We asked that night and were promised them by 9:00 am, but they still hadn’t arrived in the morning. They told us to wait until 11:00. We had to leave for Makkah to perform Umrah, so we left at 10:00. The unprofessional service is why I’m giving this rating.

It was really nice and clean. I’ll choose this hotel again on my next trip.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff and service were excellent. It’s near places to visit and see, with good restaurants nearby. I do have a fire safety concern. There are hanging hooks, but I couldn’t find fire extinguishers anywhere in the hallways or rooms, where guests are allowed to cook and smoke.
