There aren’t any restaurants nearby, so I’d go with an all-inclusive option. The hotel itself is clean, modern and comfortable, and the WiFi is quick and steady. Sam, the manager, was incredibly kind. He arranged rides to and from Honiara airport, lent us his own fishing rods, showed us around, and helped with more besides. Tulagi has a vibrant culture and beautiful corals. I loved it.

The diving is fantastic, with many World War II wrecks just a short distance away. I also found the local history fascinating, and the hoteliers really knew their stuff. The food is simple and very well done, and everything was neat and clean. A wonderful getaway that felt like a home away from home.

The owners treat you like an old friend and are extremely helpful with all kinds of needs. For boaters, there’s excellent shelter when the weather turns bad, and the island offers a full haul out. It’s also a great spot for fly-in guests. The rooms are very nice, with a beachfront restaurant and bar, plus scuba diving, snorkeling and plenty of wartime wrecks. After sailing the Pacific, I’d say this is by far the nicest place. Sjostrom is 80 tons. Talungi island used to be the capital of Salomon island. Fantastic. A must-visit for boaters and divers.

Very clean and well organized, maybe a little too much so. This foreigner-owned hotel is well run and is the best option for divers.
