Lakaz Safran

Our host Lizette was lovely and courteous, and helped us arrange tours. The room had a nice sea view and was just three minutes from the Jetty. Breakfast felt very homely, with eggs, fruit platter, coffee, tea, bread, and fresh juice. We had a lovely stay in La Digue. Thank you!

Lizette was such a friendly host, always smiling, checking that everything was okay, and ready with useful information. We also rented bikes right there, easily and without any trouble. Our room at Lakaz Safran was spacious, clean, and well maintained, with a partial ocean view from the balcony overlooking the main road. The location was ideal, near the ferry and the island's busiest area, with shops, exchange offices, a pharmacy, and restaurants. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: fresh, delicious fruit, natural juice, eggs, and jam, more than enough to start the day. We had a great time in La Digue and only good things to say about the accommodation. Some of the negative reviews we keep seeing seem to come from people who just look for faults when they travel.

Lisette, the manageress, was really nice and gave us a huge room that had been made up for us. It had the amenities we needed, and there was also a small seating area with books and a kitchen area outside. The balcony looked over Fish in Trap restaurant, onto the roadside, so we could watch everything going on. The beach and jetty were nearby, and the jetty service office and an ATM were just downstairs.

The location was perfect, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us shower after checkout and store our bags. Breakfast was simple but nice, the same sort of spread we found throughout the seychelles: toast, fresh juice, eggs, and fruit. Our room was a little small, but we spent most of our time out, so it wasn't an issue. There was a construction site, though it didn't bother us. The rooster was a bit annoying, but that's not the guesthouse's fault. A new bathroom mirror would be a small improvement. After reading the negative reviews we were a little concerned, but I don't really understand them. I'd definitely book again.
