Mountain View Hotel

It's our fifth visit to the Seychelles, and our first time at Mountain View Hotel. For the price, we thought it was excellent value. The pool was lovely for cooling off at the end of the day, the rooms were very good, and the view was lovely. We even spotted paradise flycatchers. Everyone on staff was fantastic and wanted us to enjoy our holiday. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill, which gives you that wonderful view, though it's still not too far to cycle anywhere on the island. We can't understand the negative reviews and have no hesitation recommending it.

We had to cancel our trip to the Seychelles due to the golf war. The hotel took the full stay amount before the booking date, although it was supposed to take 50% and the rest on check in day, according to the Booking.com details. Now they refuse to return the 50%. That's theft. Please stay away from this place. Sorry.

Our group of 30 friends from Romania, including 5 young kids, booked the whole hotel for 7 nights. It was our first stay here and my family's 7th time in the Seychelles, so we've got other island stays to compare with. We honestly don't understand the bad reviews. This week was perfect for us: delicious food, amazing rooms, clean and with the most comfortable beds, a great pool, and a spacious new restaurant. Nadia, Natalia, Hamisha, Adrian from housekeeping, Giovanni, the wonderful kind chef, and mrs Laurence were all so nice and made our stay special. I hope I remembered everyone's names correctly. The steep hill adds a little spice to the holiday, but it really isn't that bad. Whatever may have happened here in the past seems to have changed. We didn't run into any of the problems mentioned in the reviews, and feel some people may be comparing services with other countries they've visited. Against 5 other accommodations on La Digue, this hotel was amazing. Thank you for a very special week!

The food was some of the best we had in the Seychelles, so we were glad we booked half board. We had a great honeymoon here. They decorated the bed and left us prosecco, a lovely touch. The room was quiet and comfortable, with a shower and bath, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged bikes and a taxi transfer for an extra cost. The pool was small but a refreshing bonus. The location suited us because we also visited beaches on the other side of the island, though you do have to push the bikes for the last bit up to the hotel.
