Forest Lodge Guest House

Stephen cooked us some food, and every dish was delicious and a real pleasure to eat. We were very happy with our stay, the hospitality, the comfortable room and that lovely dinner. We hope to return for a longer visit. The room was cozy, stylish, roomy and well equipped, with a huge balcony. The Guest House itself was clean and beautifully kept, with lovely flowers and surroundings. It’s affordable and well located, and the receptionist and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Forest Lodge is a decent option if you want somewhere at a relatively low price. The owner and staff are friendly, there’s free parking, basic cookware and cutlery, and a grocery shop within a 10 minute walk. On the downside, the furniture looked a bit old, the bathroom smelled, and it’s quite an uphill walk to the lodge. Having a car would be better.

A car would be useful here, though it’s a decent lodge with friendly owners and staff, good WiFi and about a 15 minute walk to the beach. The green garden is full of guinea pigs, giant tortoises and birdsong, with fruit bats calling too. A hiking trail to an Ramsar International Wetland site starts right behind the house. I’d recommend it for families.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. It feels like a home, with a living room and kitchen, and the staff were welcoming, kind and friendly.
