We were only there for one night before an early flight, and the location was the part we liked least, though it's hard to judge after just one day. The guesthouse is on the street, and the nearby beach isn't especially impressive. We chose half board at Mahe Island Guesthouse. The rooms were new and very clean, and the atmosphere was thoughtfully put together, from the bar and the breakfast and dinner area to the little pool they offered. The service and dinner were what made us feel special. Everyone was kind, and since we couldn't have breakfast in the morning, they gave us fresh meals in the evening so we could eat in our room before the early flight. We also needed a taxi, and the owner kindly gave us an excellent contact.

The owner and staff were amazing, and I'd highly recommend this place. It's not far from the airport. The hotel is clean and quiet, exactly what I needed while taking time off from work. My partner was there for work and liked it too. It wasn't his first time staying here.

The property itself isn't bad and has potential, but the service was the problem. Guests who checked in after us were greeted with juice and towels, while we had to carry our own suitcases to the room. Service also felt inconsistent. Management wasn't accommodating, and communication with residents left a lot to be desired.

We chose Hotel La Roussette because it was close to the airport for an early flight at the end of our trip, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and the stay. It was honestly one of the cleanest hotels we've stayed in anywhere. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well, and the room was quiet because it's set back from the busy road. We walked about ten minutes down the road for dinner at Green House Cafe and were happy with that too. We'd definitely stay here again.

A really good family hotel, with great service. Thanks again for letting us use a room for free on our last day after checkout. It's close to the airport, about 4 km or 10 minutes away. Craft Village is also nearby, around a ten-minute walk, and beautiful Fairyland beach in Anse Royale is about ten minutes by bus, with buses running frequently along the main Mahe road.
