Kempinski Seychelles Resort

The spa was a bright spot. I went without an appointment, and the staff found room for me right away, which I really appreciated. The hotel is generally good, and we were welcomed pleasantly, but the stay didn't feel like a five-star resort overall, and I wouldn't recommend it as a five-star experience. The beach also wasn't worth it for us. Compared with other Seychelles beaches, it was less beautiful and less suitable for swimming. We booked a month ahead and traveled with a child, but our room wasn't near the main facilities or kids' club. We noticed what seemed to be a pattern of Arab guests being placed at the far end of the resort, which made us question whether rooms were allocated fairly. Service was slow at times. We were told someone would send a golf cart to collect us, but our request was ignored and we waited. Room service also sometimes didn't answer our calls or return them, which seemed unusual. The bedding was another problem. The duvets looked worn and had uneven, inadequate filling, so they weren't comfortable or up to five-star quality. The replacement was old too and only a little better. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport, but heavy traffic can stretch the drive to as long as an hour and a half. We nearly missed our flight because of it. These issues affected our stay and fell short of five-star standards.

We only visited the beach restaurant. We came across it by chance this evening, and the security woman we spoke with was so pleasant and welcomed us in from the beach. The food and drinks at the beachfront restaurant and bar were first-rate and good value. Ms. Barbrah Motte and her colleagues gave us friendly, impeccable service too. Definitely recommended.

We'd happily come back. The suites were roomy, elegant, and very comfortable, and the whole place sits among lush greenery beside a beautiful beach. The food was consistently excellent, with lots of choice. Fabrice was especially friendly, professional, and attentive, which made the stay even better. Ashley, the resort's marine biologist, also deserves a mention. She guided us on a snorkeling trip, explained everything clearly, and kept us safe throughout. Her love and enthusiasm for marine life were lovely and inspiring.

Thank you for such a wonderful vacation. I was especially impressed by how friendly everyone was. The beach crew were exceptionally nice, and the lifeguards were amazing and very helpful when I got stung by a wasp. Shiran and the gym and recreation team were exceptional too. The experience itself felt magical and was so well narrated. Udaya's service was exquisite, the food was a dream, and many thanks to Chef Seldrick.
