Kolibri Holiday Apartments

The guests had already taken a ferry from Praslin and a taxi to the hotel, so they were exhausted and hoping for an easy arrival. As their professional driver, I brought them there after the long journey. The main gate was shut when we arrived. I pulled safely off the main road and honked once, but nobody responded. I called the hotel several times without an answer, then waited a few more minutes and honked twice again. We were left outside the closed gate for more than 15 minutes, with tired guests waiting after their trip. Eventually the owner called back and came out. He didn't apologize for the delay. Instead, he spoke arrogantly and told me not to honk because it would disturb other guests. That felt extremely unprofessional, especially since he knew when the clients were arriving and hadn't arranged a proper welcome. There's no reception or security officer at the gate, so guests are left outside until someone chooses to respond. After a long ferry trip and taxi ride, clients deserve basic courtesy, proper organization, and a warm welcome. This was very disappointing and showed poor management.

The apartment I had, colibri 1, felt like a basement room and didn't really have a view. The hotel is near the airport, looks modern, and has a nice view of the airport and Victoria. The friendly young man working there was very helpful. The other man, who I think was the owner or manager, greeted me by asking for payment, then complained about sand we had probably brought onto the terrace. He was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Communication through booking was bad too, with no replies.

The apartment was comfortable enough for a night before a flight. It isn't especially luxurious, but for the price it was great. There's a good view, a hot shower, kitchen appliances, Netflix, and good space. The taxi was arranged for me, and the man who drove me and helped with check-in was really nice and helpful. Communication was clear too. They told me about the check-in time before 5pm when I booked, so I had plenty of time to plan around it. I can't say I had the same experience some others describe.

The apartment was spacious, very clean, and nicely furnished, with a beautiful ocean view. You can also see the airport tarmac, but it wasn't noisy with only five flights a day. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was even Netflix on the TV. The only thing we didn't like was the very hard bed. The apartments are right by the airport, but up a steep hill, so they don't recommend walking and you'll need a taxi. Communication was good and the host was very friendly. They also arranged transport to a restaurant for dinner and then to the airport. All in all, a perfect place to stay before a flight.
