Le Relax Beach Resort - Praslin

Munna, Vaishanv, and Chef Mohit brought real warmth to our stay. The staff were friendly and dedicated, and their effort meant a lot. We stayed six nights at Le Relax Hotel, Praslin, as a family, using two half-board rooms. The beachfront setting is excellent, with shops, bus stops, and other places to eat nearby. The mood is calm, and our rooms were kept clean throughout. Several things let the experience down. At check-in there was confusion about our 8-year-old, and we were initially asked to pay extra. It was resolved quickly, but after a long journey it was a disappointing start. The pool was in poor shape, with so much chlorine and acidic water that it irritated skin, so our children avoided it. The toilet flush needed repair four times, and the sink drained very slowly. The fence facing the beach was the biggest disappointment. The beach is the hotel's main asset, yet the view is blocked by a damaged makeshift barrier that looks out of place and neglected. It takes away from the ocean view and the premium feel the setting ought to have. Food choices leaned mainly Indian, which won't suit everyone, and the broken pizza oven narrowed the menu further. Some evenings there was no bartender, so drinks were limited. We also couldn't buy beer during the day, and nobody clearly explained why. Le Relax Hotel has real potential in its location and staff, but it needs better upkeep, more care with the way things look, and more consistent service to match its setting. With proper care, the beachfront could be a highlight. Right now it feels overlooked and undervalued.

We were visiting guests and went in for breakfast. The fruit tasted of onion, garlic, or whatever had been cut before it. They served instant coffee, and there were dark marks on the fruit plate. I couldn't tell whether they came from the bananas or from grapes that hadn't been washed. The yogurt was poor quality too. I understand the food is inexpensive, but please keep it clean. Simple can still be good.

We were so grateful for all the help from the women running this hotel. They were kind, accommodating, eager to assist, and couldn't do enough for us. Vaishanv and Munna were also so hospitable and helpful during our stay. The accommodation sits on a beautiful beach, with lovely walks in the area. We had a wonderful experience here and hope to come back soon!

Good value, and the place itself is perfect for the price. I only had three things to flag: a bit of a language barrier, parking across the road, and, worst of all, that very unsightly fence blocking the view when you're looking out at the amazing sea.
