There are a couple of mini-markets and some restaurants close to the apartment. Public buses make it fairly easy to get around the rest of the island, at 7 rupees each time you board, whatever the destination. The location works well for a holiday or business trip, and the self-catering place has enough room for a family, air conditioning, and all the equipment we needed.

The apartment was clean and very nice, and the area was quiet. There are a couple of places to eat nearby and bus stops close by, although a car would definitely be useful. The road gets quite dark in the evening because there are no lights.

The people were warm and very welcoming, and we had good fun with the barbecue. The beach is only about a two-minute walk away, and the place had the basic amenities. Some of them did have maintenance issues, though. Still, it was a good experience.
