Shanaz Beachside Retreat

We had a great time there. The beach location is fantastic, probably the best you could ask for on mahe, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Service was outstanding, and the staff were friendly and happy to help however they could. Five stars all the way.

The guest house staff were very friendly, and our room looked out over the ocean. You can have breakfast in the garden just a few steps from the water. We explored all of Mahe thoroughly, and honestly, the beach here is one of the nicest: calm water, few people, no algae, big boulders at the end like the ones on La Digue, and a small island nearby that you can swim to. There are some very good restaurants close by, but they're expensive. We preferred the plentiful takeaways, which often had better food than the restaurants. Each one had tables, so it was comfortable to eat there.

We loved being right on Anse Royal beach, with shops and takeout places all around. We made use of the free kayak and cooked in the kitchen. The staff were super helpful, arranging a car rental and answering everything we asked, and our room was cleaned with fresh towels each day. There was a slight smell around the sitting room and kitchen, probably from guests, including us, cooking seafood. The bedroom AC worked well, but the sitting room only had a fan. Our room faced the road even though the booking said sea view, but the beach was just downstairs, so it was fine. 100% recommend!

We had an amazing family stay with our little boy, who was 22 months old. The hosts were among the friendliest we've ever had, and the place is right by the beach with everything you need. The street can get loud when people play music in their cars, but the hosts more than made up for it. Thanks for having us.
