Niva Labriz Seychelles

A lovely little break, with friendly, kind resort staff and a really nice breakfast. Some activities cost extra, including the spa. Getting the bicycles back by 6pm each day was a bit of a nuisance over several nights, since you have to head out early to get another one and they can run out. The buggies were very useful when we needed them.

Niva Labriz on Silhouette Island felt less like a luxury holiday and more like being trapped somewhere remote and paying whatever the hotel asks. Getting there is the first problem. The hotel controls access to the island, and a boat transfer costs €210 per person. The review claims a typical Seychelles transfer for six people costs about €100 total, making the Labriz price a huge markup and, with no alternative, an entry fee disguised as transport. Once there, you're stuck with the prices they set. Basic things that cost €2 on the mainland can be sold for €150, according to the review. Mahé is 40km away, so you can't just go to another restaurant or a local market. You eat what they offer at their prices, or go without. The resort may call this exclusive, but it felt isolating, far from Mahé's culture and dining options, and with no reasonable pricing. I wouldn't recommend it unless money is no object and you don't care about value or independence.

The service was great, the people are nice, and it’s a fun place to visit.

The spa was a real highlight: tucked into the jungle and built around Silhouette Island’s natural granite rocks, it had a unique feel. Our massage was incredibly relaxing. The Beach Sanctuary Villa was beautiful and private, with a lovely pool that was cleaned regularly. It was about 10 meters from the beach, so we could hear the ocean at night and walk straight onto the sand. Service was excellent throughout, especially from the attentive housekeeping team, who kept everything just right. We also appreciated having free drinking water all day. Breakfast had a huge range of fresh, tasty options. Vegetarians and vegans should share their needs before arriving and remind the staff during the stay. The kitchen was flexible and happy to make something special if the buffet didn't have a suitable choice. Try the rum tasting, too. It was fun, informative, and a relaxed way to discover local and regional rums. Niva Labriz on Silhouette Island gave us a memorable mix of comfort, nature, privacy, and warm hospitality. We’d happily return. Thanks to the whole team for making our stay so special.
