The breakfast buffet was good, the staff there were friendly, and the location was the one real plus. The rest of what we paid for felt nowhere near worth it. We spent two miserable days in a very hot room, with no screens on the windows so bugs came in if we opened them. The AC wasn't working, despite being told it was central air, and the fan didn't oscillate. We checked in at the main hotel, then were sent to the family room we'd booked in a different building down the street. It smelled strongly of body odor when we walked in. The room felt cramped, the furniture was outdated, and our daughter's bed hadn't been made, so we had to do it ourselves. The sofa bed sheets smelled awful, as if they hadn't been changed in a while. We put out the housekeeping sign, but the cleaner only made the bed and didn't replace the sheets. The pool was closed for renovations in the middle of summer, during a busy season. They could have done that in winter when no one was using it. It seems nobody was coordinating things at this hotel.

Our group had tea, princess cake, and cookies, with gluten-free and lactose-free options. There were several kinds of tea and coffee too, including options for the real coffee fans. The hotel venue felt luxurious and the service was excellent.

This historic hotel sits right across from the railway station and close to the city center. It's been refurbished but keeps an old-fashioned feel and a nice atmosphere. The rooms aren't very large and the bathroom is quite small, though both were fine for a short stay. Breakfast had a good, wide selection, but the staff didn't seem very attentive. When the coffee machine stopped working, I told them since several guests wanted coffee. Fifteen minutes later, nobody had come to fix it. For nearly 400 euros for three nights with breakfast, the price felt a bit high for the hotel and service.

The breakfasts were especially tasty, with plenty of different choices, and the service was fully professional. It's a comfortable base for exploring the region. I strongly recommend it.
