Hotel Pigalle

We booked despite the negative comments because the website was super cute and the other reviews were good. It really depends on which room you get. We were first put in room 101, facing a green grave yard. It was badly maintained, very dim and dirty, with loud vibrations coming all day and night from the adjoining 24/7 maintenance room. Our windows were old and didn't block the sound, and we were right by the hotel's garbage bins and delivery traffic. They seemed to know about the problem but didn't care. We got another room the next day, which was okay, though still a bit run down. Sometimes bathroom water backs up and makes the toilet pipe leak fresh water. We booked category 2 out of basically 3 room types. Breakfast was good, but I can't recommend this hotel.

I went to Hotel Pigalle for an office party and had a wonderful time. It sits right in the center of town, which makes it easy to explore nearby. Inside, the atmosphere felt cozy and elegant, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The food was good too. Great service and a perfect location, highly recommend!

The people were friendly, but I found a snus box tucked beside my mattress at midnight. It was disgusting to think I might be sleeping on someone else's spit, and I wondered whether the sheets were changed, since the box would have been noticed otherwise. The minibar items and gifts were all in the same box with no visible prices. After checking out, I got an extra invoice and hadn't realized those things weren't free. The dog fee was one of the highest I've experienced in Europe for a hotel in this class, 450 SEK. The dog bed they offered was for small dogs, so for a medium or large dog it was just extra room decoration.

The breakfast buffet had a good selection and everything was great quality. The location is ideal, just a five-minute walk from the central train station. I liked the classic romantic style, and my petite room was actually very spacious. There were so many hallways that finding it was tricky, but it made for a fun maze 🤭. Very nice hotel!
