Alcatraz

The restaurant was a real hit with our two little kids. Portions were generous and tasty, the ingredients seemed fresh, and there was plenty on the menu for the whole family. Even the kids ate happily. Camping Alcatraz felt easygoing and welcoming, and the owners were kind, thoughtful people who made an effort to help us feel at home. We visited today and had such a lovely time. You can tell the place is run with heart, and we’d be glad to come back, whether for a meal or a longer stay.

We stayed in the hostel and found the rooms and kitchen really well equipped. The beds were the comfiest, too. The restaurant had tasty food at fair prices, with a good choice of dishes and local beers. There’s loads to do nearby, including pretty much any adventure sport you can think of, and Alcatraz is in a perfect spot for it. What made the place especially good for us was the team. Every person we met was friendly, polite, welcoming, and happy to help. Hope I can come back. Thanks, guys!

The campsite is beautifully placed by the water and kept in good shape. We had a wonderful stay, and renting a canoe was easy. From our first contact through to dropping the canoes back, the staff were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

We spent a week renting canoes here, and the equipment was in good condition, including the paddles, life jackets, and barrels. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Another plus is that it’s outside the Scamtrack zone, so starting from the eastern lake lets you avoid the mass tourism. Thanks, see you soon!
