Camp Gielas Arvidsjaur

We found the facilities good, with free showers and laundry. The campground is spacious and an easy walk from town. It was mostly empty when we visited, so the restaurant and office were shut. For registration, we had to go a few blocks to the Giels hotel, where parking was easy for our camper.

I’m asked to accept unspecified tracking cookies just to view the website, with no option to opt out, even partly. No thanks, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

The campground itself was good, and the women at check-in did their job well, though they were young and still learning. I had to explain the power connector, and there were no adapters to borrow for a regular-to-EU camping connection. You could buy one for 150 SEK, which wasn’t a major issue. The checkout link sent by email didn’t work, so I called the number on the campground website. The call went elsewhere, and they wouldn’t check me out there. They told me to go to the front desk, even after I explained I didn’t want to block the road with a 13 meter long bus. Then she told me to call the campground, which is what I’d already done. The woman on the phone had no service skills, so I said I was checked out and hung up. A kinder call would have earned a higher rating. It’s a decent campground, but nothing special.

We needed a place for our camper and stayed at Camp Gielas in early July. The site was tidy, and the toilets and showers in the service building were clean. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and there were activities for children. I’d happily stay again.
