Villa Beddingestrand

The waffles were delicious, definitely worth stopping for if you’re passing through. It’s a cute place with comfortable beds and an average-sized room, and check-in was easy to do yourself. I would’ve liked a holder for the showerhead, though, and in the morning I could hear people in the adjoining rooms talking and slamming doors. Still, it’s good for one night.

It’s well placed for getting to the sea, golf club, and supermarket, and I liked the dining room. The bread was delicious, and breakfast had a nice selection, though the glasses had plastic plants in them. The automatic check-in at Villa Beddingestrand might suit some people, but I missed being welcomed by a person. The price felt far too high for the room and the general state of this bed and breakfast compared with the European standard. During my four nights, the room was never cleaned or tidied. There were spiders and webs everywhere, and the front door and sink were scratched. There was no shower enclosure, just a plastic curtain without a base to catch the water. I was speechless at that, and found it completely unhygienic. The place also seemed to have had no general maintenance.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our bathroom was clean, although small, and the sink could have been bigger and higher. The newly renovated hotel was nice, but in our case work carried on late at night and started again very early. It’s right on the road and felt more like a motel than a hotel, so I wouldn’t stay more than two nights.

The entrance looks a bit shaggy, but inside there’s a lovely garden and a nice dining area. And the waffles are great!
