The Arctic Circle outing and late-night snowmobile ride added just the right bit of adventure to a mostly restful trip. Book them ahead if you can, and Max was a fantastic guide. We spent four days and three nights at Arctic Bath, and the food was a highlight every evening: the full and lighter Arctic menus were beautifully presented, Michelin-starred, and changed nightly. We loved finding out what each dish was as it arrived. Even the bread course was incredible. The staff were warm and thoughtful, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We also loved the spa, especially the sauna and cold plunge. With the river frozen solid and blanketed in snow, the views were amazing from our (not-so-)floating chalet. We flew into Stockholm, explored the old town, then took the 21:50 overnight train north from Central Station. It stopped at Boden, one stop before Lulea. We should have arranged the transfer from there since it’s much closer to Harads. My wife and I went in February and had a remarkable stay. At its coldest it reached -25°C, so if you’d rather embrace winter than take a sunny holiday, this was a special place for us.

We went in February, with the river frozen over, and the quiet was such a lovely break from our usual life in New York City. Each day we relaxed in the sauna or headed out snowshoeing and dog sledding. Dinner was wonderful every night. A honeymoon at Arctic Bath that we’ll remember.

The food may have been the best meal of my life. Every dish had so much care in the details, and it was fascinating to watch the chefs plate everything so intently. I was in a land room, which felt like having my own apartment. It was cozy, and the floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the snowy landscape. The frozen-river views from the hot tub were breathtaking too. The staff were lovely. I had a massage and used the sauna and cold plunge. I only stayed one night, but I’d definitely like to come back for a few more. It’s hands down the most beautiful hotel I’ve stayed in.

The sauna and cold bath were amazing, and the food was lovely. We got the best service we’ve ever had. A little slice of heaven, so don’t hesitate to try it 🥰 And if you go, get the clementine cocktail!

The spa was lovely, even the outdoor areas in below-zero weather, and Arctic Bath supplies really good cold-weather gear. We saw the northern lights through the huge windows, with a view from every angle. The water cabin is small, though that encouraged us to spend more time in the beautifully designed main building with family, friends, or the lovely, warm staff. Fresh tea and coffee, with oat milk available, were always there. The food was locally sourced and beautifully prepared. I wish there had been more snacks, since baked goods sometimes showed up without any way to know what would be there or when. They were all delicious, especially the cookies and cinnamon rolls. Everyone on staff went above and beyond. Bass at the front desk, sorry if I’ve misspelled his name, and the team sorted out my sister’s suitcase within minutes when it literally fell apart on departure day. Stefan, our excursion guide, was also very kind and patient with my big, eclectic family. It’s a striking, one-of-a-kind hotel. We spent Christmas there and had a really memorable time. Wishing the Arctic Bath team success in the coming year!
