Villa Nore

Our penthouse looked out over Borgholm's castle ruins and the sea. It was well equipped, with everything we needed in the kitchen, and it was a nice apartment. Bed linen, towels, and final cleaning were included, which was a welcome extra. The place is on a quiet street, tucked away but still near the city center and harbor, with free street parking outside. The owners were friendly and accommodating, and gave us helpful ideas for excursions and activities on the island. There’s also a courtyard with seating and a barbecue.

It’s just a few minutes to the beach one way and the city center the other, yet the place stays peaceful. We’re back for the fourth year, and as happy as ever. The owners are really nice and helpful, and the apartments are clean with everything you need. The garden has a barbecue area and several spots to sit, where families, adults, and older guests all mingled. It was calm and cheerful, and fun to chat with people while grilling. There was even an exciting kubb competition in the garden. Thanks, Villa Nore, for such lovely days!

We had such a good time that we extended our stay from 3 to 4 nights at the beginning of August. Our first-floor apartment had two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. The kitchen was also the living area, and we never figured out the extractor fan. The small bathroom worked perfectly well for us. The apartment was clean and in a great spot for exploring the island, and our very friendly landlord shared useful travel tips. We hadn’t booked a sea view, so it was fine that there wasn’t one. Those views are only available from the top floor. About the music, it seems there’s outdoor music somewhere in the village until midnight on some nights. It didn’t bother us, but if you need absolute quiet to sleep with the window open, you should only come when the Swedes aren’t on holiday.

The owners were lovely and keen to make sure we had a good stay. They shared tips on places to visit around the island and brought out a cubby for our children to play with in the pretty garden. We’re usually quite fussy about cleaning, but the accommodation was fresh and well kept. It feels familiar and is very central without being right in the middle of the crowds. Highly recommended!
