It's cheap and right in central Borlänge, but that's about all it has going for it. Check-in was confusing, and the code for the hotel floor only worked if I took the elevator. The room smelled like a summer house that had been shut since last summer. The toilet kept running and wouldn't flush because the handle was broken. There was also a broken wall switch for the hallway lamp, so I didn't dare touch it. The TV is fairly new and works, but you can't watch broadcasts on it, only use it as a smart TV connected to a phone or tablet. I was there for one night because I work nearby, but I'll pick another hotel tomorrow. Probably the worst place I've stayed since backpacking in the 80s.

We got there an hour before check-in and called to ask if we could leave our bags. A man came down to let us in, but acted as if we were bothering him. There was no welcome, and building materials had been left around. There's no reception, and everything runs on PIN codes, so whether this even counts as a hotel is debatable. Booking.con listed a double bed and kettle, but there was no kettle, TV remote, shampoo or double bed. The shower was the most awkward I've seen. They charge too much for what is basically a very poor self-service guest house, and we didn't even get what we'd paid for.

We couldn't sleep at all. The hotel is above a pub with live music that goes on very late, and the room was unbearably hot even with the window open. Our small children couldn't sleep, so we had to move to another hotel. The owner said he couldn't help and sounded as though we should just leave if we wanted to. After we moved elsewhere for the night, he sent us a bill for a full night's stay with breakfast. Do not book this hotel!
