The mini golf was a real highlight for me, with lovely hillside holes, though little kids might find them tricky. The lake and swimming spot are right beside the campsite, and there’s a bread wagon that comes around in the morning. The pitches are enormous, almost too much space for our car, and the playground is nice too. We stayed three nights in a roof tent. The washing machine was reasonably priced, and the shower fee was fine. Showers only work with a chip card, which you also need to enter the service rooms. There’s no discount if you don’t need electricity, unfortunately. The washrooms look fairly new but weren’t always clean. Hand-drying paper was missing for a day and a half, and the urinal was broken and seemed to have been that way for weeks, maybe months. Some guests didn’t treat the toilets well, and there don’t seem to be enough for the number of campers. At night, you can hear loud music and engines from the parking area a few hundred metres away, where 15-year-olds with their cars and red triangles gather.

The lake view is lovely, and the toilets and other facilities were clean. We had a fine lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Still, the booking and service problems made this a frustrating stay. We called to book one night for our campervan, arriving that same day. When we got there a few hours later, the spot we’d been assigned was already occupied. The receptionist had put us down for the wrong date, a day later. The campsite was full, and we only found a place because another camper had just left. I had the feeling we’d have been turned away otherwise. Nobody even apologized for the mistake. The reception gets badly backed up at busy times, with just one person handling checkouts, the mini shop, ice cream, mini golf, boat and bicycle bookings, the sauna, laundry, and general questions. The line grows quickly, and by the time you get to the desk it feels like you can’t ask much because people are waiting behind you. The staff didn’t seem to multitask to keep things moving. Laundry is limited to one washer and one dryer for 115 camper spots plus rental houses. I did manage to reserve an evening slot by calling, but had to wait half an hour because the person before me was late. You also have to collect and return the key at reception, so there was a lot of running back and forth. Luckily, nobody had booked after me. One thing that wasn’t easy to find on the website, but was clearer once we arrived: the campsite is owned by a non-profit organization whose driving force is spreading the message of Jesus Christ. If church-related things aren’t for you, you might prefer another place. Our experience may have been worse than average, but they really need to improve customer service, booking accuracy, and how they provide information.

There’s plenty to do here during a holiday in Sweden, including mini golf and an old car show every Tuesday. Definitely worth spending some time here.

A clean, comfortable campsite at a fair price, with a lovely view over the lake and a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and live up to the nice things people say about Swedes from Småland.

It feels modern but still has a quaint character, right by the lake and an easy walk from Eksjö. There’s a playful mini golf and adventure golf course, plus lots of rentals on wheels and on the water for kids and adults. The staff are friendly, and there’s often live music on the outdoor restaurant seating area overlooking the lake. 👍👍
