It’s out in the middle of nowhere, and the main photo shows the owner’s house, not the rentals. The rental houses had an unpleasant old smell. With all the flies and mosquitoes outside, you can’t leave the windows open, and the dishes and kitchen equipment are old. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The cottage is spacious, with two bedrooms, a living room, and a dining area. It was clean and well equipped, and the welcoming staff shared generous tips for our adventures. There are thoughtful personal touches throughout, and it’s tucked away off road. It’s quite dark inside, though. There’s no terrace, and the trees and shrubs around every side give privacy but block the view.

There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby, as well as walking routes. The house was clean and had everything we needed, and the view over the lake was really nice.

We were warmly welcomed and got useful tips about what to see and how to get there. The cottage isn’t furnished with the newest things, but it has everything you need and the price is good. Its location is fantastic, with a view of Hornborgasjön and beautiful surroundings, and it’s close to attractions like the orphanage church, the monastery ruins, and the lake’s nature room.
