Scandic Gävle Väst

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with plenty to choose from, fresh food and good coffee. The service was friendly, and the large hotel parking lot makes traveling by car easier. I stayed one night and was satisfied overall. The room was clean and functional, though simple, with no frills. The room felt a bit stuffy because there's no air conditioning, and the interior is somewhat dated. It doesn't feel luxurious, but it's perfectly fine for one or two nights, especially if you want a convenient spot close to the E4. Scandic Gävle Väst is a good choice for a short stay.

The room was unbearably hot during our summer stay. There was no ventilation, and the window barely opened. I was very glad to leave. The hotel itself was nice, though, and breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly.

We stayed three nights and found the hotel very nice. There's a free gym in the basement with basic equipment, nothing fancy, but enough to get some reps in. I think there's a swimming pool down there too. I hadn't packed my gym or swim clothes, so bring yours if you're staying.

The staff were polite and pleasant. The family room for four was quite small but clean. The pool and sauna were decent, although the website said the pool was under maintenance. The changing room had no lockers for clothes, and the walls showed signs of halls. Dinner was okay. The taco buffet tasted fine and had plenty of vegetables, while the shrimp sandwich we ordered had too much mayonnaise. Breakfast was also okay, with lactose-free and gluten-free options. The cinnamon oatmeal was delicious. If you're planning to ski at Kungsberget, this hotel could be a great alternative.
