Hotell Nissastigen

The location is very central and close to Isaberg, where we wanted to ski. There’s a machine on the second floor with free hot water, coffee, and cocoa, and radiators outside the rooms where you can dry gloves and other things. Our room felt a bit bare and could use some pictures or other things on the walls. It was also a little small for two adults and two children, but it worked out okay. Breakfast was pretty good, a nice way to start the day. Dinner may be delayed when other things are happening at the hotel, but you can arrange a specific time at the front desk.

After a full day of rain, from packing up the tent to reaching the hotel, we decided to treat ourselves to a hotel stay instead of continuing our bike-packing plan. The staff were really kind and helpful from check-in through check-out. We could store our bikes and even dry our tent. The buffet was simple but tasty, and breakfast was really good. The one downside was that the vegan food was gone by the time we got to the buffet.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms nice, and the staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast ended at 10am, which was a bit disappointing. We got there at 9, and when items like eggs or bacon had run out, we asked for more but were told they couldn’t bring any.

The room was modern and clean, and the staff were friendly. When I booked, they even called to let me know there’d be a celebration in the city that night and it might be noisy. Breakfast was mediocre: dry scrambled eggs, bacon that didn’t taste good, cheap cold cuts, and not much choice of cereals. The two-level bed wasn’t very practical, though I knew about the setup beforehand. We picked this hotel because Isaberg had no cottages available for the weekend we traveled, and there aren’t many other options in the area. It was okay, but next time I’d rather stay in a cottage at Isaberg and be closer to the region’s beautiful nature.
