We visited when it was calm, even though there's no soundproofing, which makes sense for an old building. It's a very cute little hotel with historic style and a perfect location. The staff were fantastic, and breakfast was really nice.

Dinner was the highlight, one of the best meals I've had. They source food locally and make a new menu based on what's in season, and breakfast was amazing too. The room was cute and historic, and when we brought our dog, the staff were incredibly accommodating, with dog treats waiting in the room. I'd highly recommend staying here if you visit Gränna.

The staff were faultless, from the front desk through to the restaurant, and the room was wonderful. Dinner was superb, but the five-course breakfast is what we'll be talking about for a while. When we got to Stockholm, a friend asked where we'd been and mentioned he'd stayed at Amalia Hus before. He agreed with me: there's only one place to stay in Granna, and it's here.

The garden was beautiful, full of flowers, and our room was spacious, clean, and inspired by the 18th century. But the old building doesn't block sound well, and a room facing the main street gets some traffic noise. Dinner was okay: the food was good, but portions were much too small for the price. Breakfast was okay too, nothing special.

It's a boutique hotel in a historic building, so the rooms are limited by that, but they're still very nice. I'd give the rooms a strong four. Dinner lands somewhere between 4.5 and 5, while the service and breakfast are definitely five-star.
