Hammarstrands Camping

We usually camp in a tent, but the cabins were so reasonably priced that we chose one here. It was clean and comfortable, though you’ll need to bring your own sheets. The toilets and showers were spotless, and the whole place felt quiet and peaceful. We also paid for breakfast, which was well worth it. One of the nicest campgrounds we’ve stayed at in a while.

We left feeling completely unwelcome. We cleaned up, didn’t break anything, and the kids weren’t yelling, yet the owners treated us as if we’d behaved terribly. It seemed like they didn’t want children at the campsite and were happy to make that clear to both kids and parents. The campsite itself is nice, and the facilities are clean and good. One owner shouted at our child for briefly touching the hot tub, even though he wasn’t forcing it or damaging anything. It’s fine to tell us, or to tell my child if I’m not nearby, that he shouldn’t do something, but shouting like that at paying guests wasn’t acceptable. I’d say it’s a nice campsite for adults, but families with children should avoid it.

We’ve stayed here for five nights, and the breakfast basket has been really good value. The stuga is comfortable and peaceful, with its own yard and amenities, and the price feels fair. The owners are nice, and the central location in Sverige makes it easy to get here. A great place to unwind.

The reception bar has a wide choice of food. We stopped in for kladdkaka, a delicious Swedish chocolate dessert. Our two-night stay was comfortable, and the services worked well. There are plenty of cabins, and the kitchen is well equipped, with a coffee machine that we used. The nearby bathing spot is wonderful too. The water was cold for me, but it’s clean and the views are superb, so you just want to keep swimming.
