Quality Hotel Winn Haninge

My family usually stays at this hotel when they visit, and even when I’m not staying there, I’ve paid to have breakfast with them. But after how rudely a restaurant waiter treated me this morning, I don’t want to return. I was walking around with my active toddler instead of eating, since he can’t sit still for five minutes. When I finally got a chance to eat, I had less than 10 minutes before an appointment, so I made two extra sandwiches to take along. A waiter stopped me and said I had to pay for them or leave them there, because I wasn’t allowed to pack the food. She said, “We don’t do that in Sweden,” in such a rude way. Sorry, Winn, but other hotels have given us takeaway boxes after breakfast.

The staff were friendly, and there’s an easy walk behind the hotel around the lakes. The lobby is beautiful and relaxing, with a lively feel at night. It suited us for three nights on a budget, away from city prices. The local train is about a 6-7 minute walk, and the bus station is around 3 minutes away. The beds were comfortable, though the TV was positioned awkwardly for watching from bed. As a couple, we also didn’t like having two single beds and separate duvets. Breakfast was the hardest part for us as a couple from England. We struggled to find familiar basics like milk for cereal or toast options, and there were hardly any pastries. Other than scrambled eggs, the hot dishes were unfamiliar to us. We left hungry each of the three mornings, though the coffee was great.

The train station is right beside the hotel, with direct access to Stockholm central station. The place feels fairly new and fresh, and the service was good. Staff were really helpful and accommodating. Breakfast included vegan choices, and the staff can point you to plenty of options. I was very happy with the hotel.

The district is only okay, but Stockholm is about 20 minutes away, which is why you’d stay here. The rooms are spacious and cozy, and the food tastes really good. That’s what matters most to me at a hotel. I found the breakfast a little boring and would have liked more variety. Still, it has everything I could ask for, and maybe a bit more. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.
