The riverfront city centre location is handy, and getting the self check-in details on time was easy. But the door codes nearly left half of us locked out, the TV was dead, and the radiators didn't work on a cold night. Then breakfast was an overpriced bag we ate among Christmas lights in late January. There’s potential here, but it feels overpriced and underused, and that potential is sitting there unlocked.

The owner was friendly and got back to us quickly when we raised concerns, which was a welcome change. Still, after two nights I’d only choose this place if I had no other option. There’s no proper Wi-Fi, just a weak connection around reception, and with no staff actually around the place feels hollow. The late-night noise from drunk guests going up and down the corridor got old fast.

We came here on foot while staying in Tornio for three days, and I’d be back without hesitation. The meal was delicious and very reasonably priced, with good music and a lovely atmosphere from the decor. The waitress was helpful and spoke English well, and the rest of the staff were nice too.
