Virserums Vandrarhem

Yeah, it was okay.

Viserumsjön is close by, with a peaceful view and spots for swimming or fishing. In summer, it sounds like a lovely place to spend a day, and the sunsets are magical. The forest paths around the hostel are great for walks too, with birdsong and quiet scenery. Dackegrottan is another nearby outing, with a hike through the forest to a place said to have been a hiding spot for Nils Dacke during the battles against Gustav Vasa. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, quiet, and welcoming, with simple but comfortable rooms, tidy shared areas, and a cozy patio for morning coffee. It had a homely feel and suited a relaxing weekend or an active holiday in nature. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it to nature lovers.

It was really quiet the night we stayed. The communal kitchen was well organised, and there were enough toilets, all clean. The place was tidy, and the host was nice. There’s a small outdoor play area, a washing line, and an upstairs lounge with games, a TV, and books.

I didn't actually stay at the hostel, but the owner still deserves five stars. They had put in two EV chargers, one for Tesla and one for everyone else. When I was in Virserum, the owner helped me charge my car, which still had quite a bit of battery left, and charged a very good price. They're helpful and great to talk with.
