We liked the beds, even though they were pretty soft, and everything was clean in this rather basic hostel. The building seems old, some rooms share a shower and toilet, and there's a shared kitchen. They put out a small breakfast for everyone in the morning. Fine for two or three nights in Karlsborg, but too basic for a longer visit.

At least the place was clean, which is why I'd give it two stars. It looks like a 1930s nursing home that's been converted pretty badly into a hotel, hostel, or crash pad. The mattresses seem 20 years old, and the bunk beds wobble. In the shared bathrooms the floor slopes the wrong way, with the drain at the high end, so expect to squeegee up water after showering. And those door springs are so overpowered that the doors hit your ankles as you step through.

The shower kept giving us hot water without running out. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were comfortable enough with everything needed. Laundry and the dining room kitchen facilities were in good shape.

The rooms are okay for a few days, though they're very small and the furniture layout is impractical. The WiFi is really poor, and breakfast wasn't very good. I wouldn't recommend a longer stay.

We had a good stay, with a nice breakfast and parking available. The surrounding area is lovely, and the lakes are wonderful.
