The location is ideal for exploring Karlstad, and CCC is literally ten seconds away for events. Parking on the street was easy. I’ve stayed twice, once in winter in a south-facing room overlooking a small stream that crosses the road, and once in autumn in a north-facing room toward the river. Both stays were great. The rooms were clean and warm, reception was attentive, and there’s a tea and coffee corner with cookies on the ground floor that you can bring up to your room for fika. Breakfast is modest but has a good variety. The north-facing rooms have especially nice views.

The rooms were spotless, and the staff were friendly and easy to talk to. I'd happily come back when I get the chance.

The staff are super nice, and the hotel is relatively cheap and right in the middle of town, close to everything. Breakfast starts at 7, but I had to leave earlier, so they gave me a breakfast package instead, and it was really good. Guests can also get coffee and tea for free at any time, which was a nice touch. We were upgraded to a bigger room because the hotel was already full by the time we booked. The only downside I can mention is that there’s no guest parking.

We were very happy with our stay at First Hotel River C from May 15 to 17, 2019. It’s a peaceful, pleasant area, with lovely views of the lake and river. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the cozy lobby and clean, comfortable room made for a nice stay. There was a great choice of breakfast, the food was high quality, and the dinner menu was excellent. It’s an easy, relaxing walk to the river and lake banks or into the downtown area.

The bathroom was the biggest I've had so far, and the young woman at reception gave us the best service I've experienced in Sweden. The room itself was too dark, though, since there were no ceiling lamps.
