Kaptenshuset Bed & Breakfast

Two years later, and the owner has finally replied, with one of the most passive-aggressive responses I've seen here. I keep my 3⭐ rating for the location, rooms, and on-premise service, but lower my overall rating to 1⭐ because the reply was so late and unpleasant. The town is cosy, within walking distance, and has good places to eat. Breakfast was okay, with fresh fruit and vegetables and home-baked bread. The staff were friendly and the facilities clean, but the price didn't feel worthwhile. The cabins aren't air-conditioned. Our two-bed cabin was like a sauna when we arrived. They're made of cardboard, so sounds carry both ways. There isn't a sink, shower, or toilet in the cabin. You have to cross the lawn and go through the main entrance to the shared facilities, then wait in line in the dining room for the one bathroom. Everything you do in there, including using the toilet, can be heard as if you were in the middle of the dining room. I don't understand why the place is rated kid-friendly when the main road runs right outside the windows, with no fence or other way to keep children or pets off the road.

The sleeping arrangements were cosy and comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to relax. I had a wonderful stay at Kiviks Bed & Breakfast. The meals were delicious, with a variety of flavours that really impressed me. I highly recommend it!

Patrick and Lena were fantastic owners, doing everything they could to make us feel at home. The common areas were very well furnished with everything needed. We stayed in a superior room, which was new, very clean, had a nice landscape view, and its own toilet. A comfortable, amazing B&B. We'll definitely come back, it's the best spot to stay in Kivik!

I had a wonderful stay at Kaptenshuset, and Kirsten was extremely accommodating, which really made my trip to the east coast. Still, I'm absolutely convinced I was ravaged by bedbugs during my stay on 27 March. I called the hotel and they said they'd checked and found no traces. Given the circumstances of my trip, though, I think it's just about impossible that it happened anywhere else.
