Bykrogen

The food presentations, creative dishes rooted in the region and changing with the seasons all help make Bykrogen special. The staff are outstanding, friendly and engaged, and the atmosphere feels genuinely welcoming. Every meal there has become a highlight of my trips to Sweden, so I highly, highly recommend this one-of-a-kind place. I've been following the changes at Bykrogen and to its menu since it opened in 2001, during my frequent visits to Sweden. My experiences have moved from excellent, outstanding and extraordinary to a point where I've basically run out of superlatives.

The wine is superb, the food is among the best this foodie New Yorker has ever had, and the charming decor goes with friendly, knowledgeable staff. The tasting menu was a WOW. Staying and/or eating at Bykrogen can be one of those perfect life moments, because the whole team brings the pieces together so well. Hospitality uses the word "experience" so often that it takes what the Bykrogen team delivers to really understand what it means. Whatever it takes, don't visit that part of Sweden without going to Bykrogen and letting this skilled, friendly, creative team give you a fabulous experience and life moment.

We had a work thing here, and the food was awesome. The service was attentive too. I'd definitely like to come back.
