Kronocamping Lidkoping

The campsite is huge and right beside the lake. There were lots of people eating, and I had a few drinks at the very nice bar.

The price is the main downside, especially since people from outside can come in and use things like the campsite water taps and playgrounds. With the site open to its surroundings, it can feel a bit like pitching in a public park, with people walking through and coming and going freely. That feeling is stronger when the place isn't full. Police pass through too, and security patrolled over the weekend, which makes you wonder if that's needed. The campsite itself is amazing, with nice playgrounds, a restaurant, and an ice cream kiosk. The toilets could be more plentiful, mostly because they're a walk away rather than because of queues. Still, it didn't always feel very safe.

A wonderfully located, large and classy campground by lake Vänern, with very good facilities and a spotless feel. Staff were friendly and positive, and helped us book over the phone when our internet wasn't working. There's a lovely walking route into the city, and the grocery store is within walking distance. Camping at its best!

The campground was too big for my taste, and its surroundings are quite ugly. The staff, though, are super friendly, and the toilets and showers are fine. The restaurant is decent too, with good food and staff. The nearby swimming pool is simple but makes for half a day of fun in the water. The city centre is nice and has some excellent restaurants.
