Scandic Linköping City

After checkout I realized I'd left my AirPods in the room. I had to call several days later, and the hotel confirmed they had them and said they'd send them through PostNord. The package arrived sealed but empty, so I can't blame the carrier. The room was also so cold, with inadequate heating, that I slept in my jacket. It was a one-night stay on a trip, and one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. One star feels generous. The lost-property handling and the discomfort were both very disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The location worked well and breakfast was good. The room was OK, though the shower door swings in a way that leaves the whole floor wet, and the pillows are small.

Breakfast was the highlight, with an amazing range of things to choose from. The location is handy too, near both the city airport and the centre. The rooms feel basic and dated, with old furniture, and at about 150 euros a night I expected a kettle and a safe, but neither was there. Service was uneven at reception, and on one day the women serving were chewing gum. At the bar we went twice and weren't acknowledged or asked what we wanted. We had to go up and ask for beer, tea, and coffee, which took ages. The woman there also didn't know the difference between black and green tea, so couldn't tell us what was available.

The river location is good, and the hotel staff member I asked was friendly. But they confirmed that all the rooms have the same old style and didn't offer another option. The furniture and bathroom look very dated and worn, which was a disappointing first impression for the price. The standard felt well below what I expect from the Scandic Hotel Chain.
