Park Hotell

The kitchen wasn’t equipped as described. We also found bed bugs in the beds quite quickly, and couldn’t get through to staff on the phone despite trying several times. They ignored our email, too. We left for another hotel that same evening. We’re still trying to get our money back, but haven’t succeeded so far, as the hotel is responding to only minor attempts to contact them.

Andre, the owner, is a very nice and helpful guy. I was satisfied during my four-week work trip. The room was spacious and warm, breakfast was included, and there was a shared kitchen and fridge. There’s a TV with local channels, though no Chromecast. It’s very close to the centre, about a 2-5 minute walk. Smedjecity has strand, smedje and shopping malls, with a different design from the typical malls in other Swedish cities. The shopping gallery was designed by Ralph Erskine and has an art gallery on the second and third floors. It’s a nice option if you want privacy and a secure place. You book online or by phone, then get a code for the coded outdoor entrance and your room number. Reception has a receptionist sometimes. It seems suited to repeat visitors on longer stays, and the price is the best in Luleå.

Park Hotell gives the impression that they don’t care about the place, the atmosphere, breakfast, or the interior, and don’t want to work. The only thing they seem interested in telling customers about is the toilet system.

I spent one night here, 08/06/23 to 09/06/23, while travelling from Norway to Finland. It’s a small hotel, but it was fine, and breakfast was available. Lulea Central Station is nearby, about a five-minute walk away.
