The room was cold in winter and seemed dirty in just about every area. It also felt noisy throughout the hotel, even on the upper floors. The windows are old and let in every sound, and the bed creaked and wasn't comfortable to sleep in. At €220 a night, I expected much more. The rooms are dated and not well maintained, and I don't think this place meets the standard of a four-star hotel or justifies its price. The TV was tiny and old, with no Smart TV and only around five channels. Breakfast was very ordinary, and some items looked stale or dried out, as though they'd been out for days. The bathroom only had basic soap and shampoo, with no slippers, bathrobe, or other things I'd expect at a four-star property. There weren't many hotels to choose from in the area, and the reviews had made this one seem like the best option. After staying here, I wouldn't book it again.

We had four really comfortable nights here. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, and I was happy to find avocado to have with my toast. The staff were lovely, and Manager Mr Ali even checked that everything was all right in our room. The location was great, with a beautiful Cathedral nearby, and we also loved the Italian restaurant downstairs. The chefs made us some lovely meals.

When I checked in, I found three bottles of conditioner in the bathroom but no shampoo or shower gel. I went to reception to ask about it, and the staff member said they worked at reception, not housekeeping, and that it wasn't their job. The service attitude was really terrible.

The breakfast was good and had plenty of variety. The hotel itself is okay, but the room temperature was a real problem: it was 35 inside when it was 20 degrees outside, and there was no A/C. I know air conditioning may not usually be needed in Norrland, but that heat was still unpleasant. There were skid marks on the bedsheet on my side, too, which wasn't great :S

I had a really enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
