First Hotel Planetstaden

The gym was amazing, one of the best I’ve used in a hotel. The hassle was having to go to the front desk every morning for an RFID bracelet, then head up to the top floor. I’m used to room keys granting gym access, so having to get a separate bracelet each time was annoying. The location worked well for me. I had a shuttle to my workplace and could easily walk back. Town was an easy walk too, the bus stop is right outside, and a few grocery stores are within a 15-minute walk. My room was quiet, and the hotel was clean with friendly staff. I didn’t care for the breakfast or dinners. The kitchenette was handy, but my room had no microwave, and there were no pots, pans, or silverware until I asked at the desk. I think those should be in the room. No tissues or paper towels either, which seemed odd.

The free sauna was the best part, and it stays open until about 22:00. Staff were friendly, and my room was tidy, though it was missing towels at first. They sorted that out easily. It’s a good value hotel on the edge of town. The restaurant is very spacious, but dinner is only served during a short window, 18:00-20:00, and there aren’t many other food options nearby.

The hotel and breakfast were good, but fitness and sauna were closed when we wanted to use them. At the moment, the only parking is in the public lot beside the hotel, and you pay separately for each car or motorbike. That gets expensive, and it isn’t a secure garage.

The pool and spa looked beautiful, and the rooms were extremely comfortable. Service was exceptional, the food was excellent, and the location made things very convenient. One of the best hotels in the world for me. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.
