Duxiana Malmo

The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but there’s a huge parking lot just over the nearby bridge, so it wasn’t a worry. The trendy lamps and furniture make the place feel great, along with the very cozy Duxiana beds. All the staff were super kind, and breakfast was enjoyable.

The service was impeccable from the warm, cheerful welcome to the help with a dinner reservation and a late-night glass of wine. Breakfast in the morning had plenty of hot and cold choices. The daytime crew were great, especially Clinton and Jackie. For such a beautiful boutique hotel, the price was surprisingly good. We’ll definitely stay again and recommend it. We stayed far too briefly. The hotel is elegantly designed and sits one block from the train station, within walking distance, in the historic district. The rooms are well appointed with TVs, beautiful bed linens, wifi and clean, lovely bathrooms. We’d recommend the front-corner suite overlooking the harbor. It has incredible high ceilings, a lovely sitting area for relaxing or entertaining, and beautiful views. The large claw-foot soaking tub sits in the bumped-out corner, with 280 degrees of windows over the city. It’s a wonderful place to unwind after work, travel or sightseeing with a glass of wine from the lobby.

It’s about a five-minute walk to the train station, and the hotel is well worth the price. The decor is tasteful, with attention to detail, and the breakfast was fantastic. Staff were friendly, helpful and forthcoming. Exceptionally nice place, highly recommended.

I preferred the hotel before the renovation. Breakfast used to be much better, and the lobby changes seemed unnecessary to me, though the fancier front desk is a plus. The building and location are good, and I like the jazz music and romantic feel. Free tea and coffee by the lobby is a nice touch. The rooms are small, with huge beds, and the bathrooms are cramped with lots of sharp edges. There’s barely space by the sink for makeup or cosmetics. I’ve stayed in four different rooms and the loft upstairs, so I’ve seen the variations. I liked having steamers in the rooms, but they removed the malin + goetz shower products and replaced them with some weird brand. I always freeze here. The heating only gets lukewarm and I couldn’t switch off the AC. The blankets were heavy and far too warm, so under them I was sweating like crazy, but without one I was cold.
