Grand Circus Hotel

The staff made us feel very welcome, and you can borrow bikes to explore the area. It’s also an easy ride into central Malmo, with cosy Kirseberg nearby. The place has a fun, rustic camping-meets-glamping feel and is great for kids. There’s a shared kitchen for storing food, if you’re comfortable leaving it there, plus a little freezer section. The toilets are shared and basic, but adequate.

The staff were the highlight, so warm and accommodating that they even shared their watermelon with my dog and me. We both had a lovely stay at the Grand Circus, and I hope we can return. The Sunday concert was a beautiful surprise, and the shared kitchen and facilities were clean and tidy. The share fridge is a nice touch. My caravan felt super cozy, with plenty of air coming in when the windows were open.

Borrowing bikes for the day made it easy to explore Malmö, and everyone working there was delightful. The accommodation is cosy and beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere. I’d recommend it to anyone after somewhere a little quirky and magical.

The place itself is interesting, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The campers are parked quite close together, though, and the bathrooms and showers are very basic, a bit dated, but clean enough. Our first night was OK, but a group of six Swedish guests beside our campervan played loud music and sang when we got back from the city. We asked them to quiet down a little. They said they could be as loud as they wanted, but would leave in an hour. An hour later, they were still just as loud. Reception said there was nothing they could do and seemed to accept that the group had the right to make the noise. We’d been travelling by campervan for two months, across nine countries and fifteen campsites, and this was the strangest response I’d had at a campsite to such a basic problem. We had planned to stay two nights, but asked for our money back for the second one and left.
